I hear these a lot.

And I get it, as a fitness coach and US veteran, there are a lot of misconceptions about being vegan.

These are 2 fields with a lot of ā€œbroā€ energy, where eating meat is very common and that can be seen as synonymous with toughness.

That isnā€™t the case though.

The number one myth I hear is being vegan doesnā€™t get you the proper amount of protein.

This is so far from the truth, because the top sources of protein on a vegan diet can get you anywhere from 30-90 grams of protein on their own.

The second one is that veganism isnā€™t healthy.

Also false, because eating a whole food, plant based diet can get you all the nutrients and vitamins you need. You donā€™t need animal products to do that.

The vitamins and minerals actually lie within the plant based foods, not the meat.

The last one is that vegans are crazy.

This canā€™t be further from the truth, as vegans are compassionate towards animals, not crazy in any way. We love animals outside the ones we ownā€¦

ā€¦ and thatā€™s not a bad thing.
