Anna Shon and Jacqueline Bradley are the best of friends who have now collaborated in creating quick and easy plant based family friendly cookbook, no SOS and gluten free. They have independently found that living a plant based lifestyle has reversed and alleviated medical issues for both families. Their paths on this plant based journey has brought them together to share their experiences, results, recipes towards a living green revolution.
When Anna was 5 years old she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Therefore, health and wellness has been a priority since she was very young.

In 1985, the Dietary Medical Approach to Diabetes was a focus on eating low carbs, high animal protein and high processed sugar free items. Anna followed exactly the Conventional Diet but never had a diagnosis of “well controlled” of her Diabetes from the doctors. In addition she often felt sluggish and had low energy. In her twenties she learned about eating more vegetables but her blood sugars numbers were still above normal because they were either grilled or sauteed in oil. In her late twenties, Anna was blessed to deliver healthy identical twin girls. As a Diabetic Childbirth and Rearing is very difficult however Anna was determined to deliver and care for healthy baby girls. After giving birth, Anna focused on teaching her daughters about healthy living and was the only Mother to give lunch boxes with 95% fruits and vegetables. This lifestyle made her daughters stand out and oftentimes get teased by their classmates for what they ate.

In 2011, everything changed when Anna got divorced and met the love of her life, Josh. Both Anna and Josh were on the same page about their health and determination to live a healthy lifestyle. In 2017 Anna and Josh made the decision to switch to a Vegan Plant Based Lifestyle. While Anna and Josh decided to live this very Health Lifestyle, they gave the option to each of their children. They wanted them to make their own decisions. While Anna made meals for herself and Josh, the children would get their preferred meals (chicken, broccoli and sweet potatoes) however soon after would ask if they could skip the meat and dairy parts.

In 2020, Anna read the life changing book by Chef AJ, The Secrets to Ultimate Weight Loss. These suggestions resonated with Anna a lot and she incorporates many of Chef AJ’s Recipes. Later in 2020, Anna discovered a Mastering Diabetes book by Cyrus Khambatta and Robby Barbaro. This program has exponentially changed her life. It has taught her how Insulin Resistance is the true key to managing Diabetes. Her doctors now tell her she is the best Managed Diabetes Patient they have ever seen.

Anna has focused her adult life learning about health. She wants to focus on prevention rather than treatment. Using food as medicine and wellness is key for Anna and her Family. The whole family enjoys daily exercise, making meals with unprocessed whole foods and sharing the message with others.

Jacqueline has been plant based for nearly eight years along with her husband, Clinton and their two kids now 17 & 15.
Their journey began to reverse disease, regain health and build their immune systems.

The Bradley’s initially thought they lived a better than normal healthy American diet but it still led them down a path towards medications, chronic disease and surgeries. Clinton is a type 1 diabetic who was on statins for high cholesterol. Jacqui was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Reynaud’s Syndrome, PCOS, seasonal allergies, and had a breast cancer scare where she underwent bilateral surgical biopsies. Their children despite being breast fed and never drinking soda had numerous emergency visits to hospital. Their oldest had tonsillectomy/adnoidectomy at the age of 3 for severe sleep apnea due to chronic infections and asthma. Their youngest had severe croup and both children were on asthma medications/steroids.

While on holiday 8 yrs. ago, Clinton stumbled upon a CNN documentary called “The Last Heart attack” which featured an interview with President Bill Clinton who had changed his diet to plant based after a quadruple bypass. He went on to mention Dr. Dean Ornish’s name and how a vegan diet can not only stop some disease but reverse the effects for an increase in longevity. This instigated their curiosity into plant based healing and living. They discovered a whole world of doctors and people who experienced amazing results from just diet alone. Dr. Joel Fuhrman had fantastic results specifically with diabetic, auto immune and cancer patients. It was mind boggling to them why they hadn’t heard about this sooner and not one doctor ever suggested nutrition over drugs.
