As you may know, I typically dumpster dive for make up in order to refrain from supporting the cosmetics industry. But today I am trying a different method to zero waste make up. This is the first episode of my three part zero waste make up series. There will be multiple zero waste make up recipes throughout the series including blush, bronzer, eye shadow, and mascara.
I recently saw Ladylike Buzzfeed try zero waste make up, and I’m not the biggest fan of their context, so here’s my version (:

In this video I used beet and cocoa powder to make two zero waste makeup recipes. You can use these two ingredients to make a variety of blush colors. By adding different ratios of beet root powder and cocoa powder you can achieve a variety of nudes and pinks. You can also add in arrow root powder to lighten the colors or charcoal to make them deeper and darker.
