How Axiology's Zero-Waste Makeup Crayons Are Made
Axiology makes beauty products that are vegan, clean, and cruelty-free. Its line consists of lipsticks, crayons, and zero-waste Lip-to-Lid Balmies. The brand makes its products in Bend, Oregon, with ingredients and practices that don’t cause harm to people, animals, or the planet. All of its products contain no more than 10 ingredients, and the brand has substituted some ingredients like beeswax and palm oil with more sustainable options like sunflower wax and plum oil.
For its color pigments, Axiology uses mostly earth-derived pigments like iron oxides and micas that are child-labor-free. The Lip-to-Lid Balmies are all individually wrapped in recycled paper and packaged in boxes that are made from 100% recycled paper waste. These boxes are sourced from a handmade-paper company in Bali that was created by women to help reduce the amount of waste on the island. The Balmies can be used on the eyes, cheeks, and lips, and the packaging can be recycled once the product is finished.
